Today was Granpa’s birthday.  Even though he passed 14 years ago we still remember him.  As he loved treasure hunting and prospecting, what better way to honor him than to find some geocaches!  Never mind the rain.

We searched for 9 caches today before it got dark, and we found 8 of them!

#1: Cornered.  40 38.322 N 112 00.105 W.  This one was no trouble to find.  We left one of our cards as we are going to do in every cache that is big enough to hold it!

2: Foxy in Red.  40 38.186 N 111 59.983 W.  Not hard to find but the log was all wet!

3: “Rosebud”.  40 37.859 N 111 59.994 4 W.  Easy to find, was a surprise to have a rose attached to the container!

4: Northern Navigator.  40 37.762 N 112 00.140 W.  Cleverly disguised and hidden well but easy to find!

5: Don’t do that #5.  40 37.551 N 112 00.040 W.  The kids looked and looked for this one until we left.  We then went back and Dad looked, finding it fairly easily!

6: Don’t do that #3. 40 36.624 N 111 59.854 W.  Easy to find but no one wanted to stick their hand in the place where it was!  Dad wasn’t afraid and found it easily.  He was just afraid of dropping the thing in an unretreiveable spot.

7: Park Village Park.  40 36.777 N 112 00.409 W.  We looked and looked but didn’t find this one.  We will have to look again maybe with some more hints!  Of course it could have been stolen by muggles based on the location that the GPS sent us to.

8: Dead End Cache.  40 37.002 N 112 00.197 W.  We looked around quite a bit until we found it just under a place we had already looked!  We have learned to be sneakier searchers and to think like a hider of caches.

9:My Mickey Mouse Cache. 40 40.164 N 111 59.095 W.  It was dark but we just had to find this one as we love Mickey Mouse!  Mom found it right where it was supposed to be and there was a Mickey Mouse on it!

This was a great day of caching and we are just getting our appetites ready to go for more.  The adventures will continue, stay tuned!
