Another day and a few more caches!  We even placed 2 caches this day.

1:  Certainly Thin.  40° 41.162 N 111° 58.485 W.  Dad found this one right where it was supposed to be!

2:  Everybody’s Talkin.  40° 41.759 N 112° 00.313 W.  Leatha found this cache and traded stuff in it!

3: we Searched for another cache called Take Me Out to the Ballgame.  Unfortunately, the baseball games decided to start right about then so we had to skedaddle.  Too many muggles showed up.  We will head back out to hunt this one later.

4:  Garden of Weedin.  40° 41.574  112° 01.842W.  Mom found this cache hiding where it said it was!

Well we headed East for this day of Geocaching so that we could drop off a travel bug, a toy voyager and some geocoins!  We headed up towards the place where my Mom is from so I was fairly familiar with the area.  Plus the kids were excited to head over the border into Wyoming.

Onto the caches!

#1: Wanship Trailhead  40° 48.823 N 111° 24.178 W.  Cameron found this one in a very windy spot!  There are a bunch of caches along this trail but it was too cold to lug the baby around so we didn’t.  We went here and there while staying in the car.

Well it was the 8th of March and the kids searched for a cache while dad was in the store.  They didn’t find it.  Dad looked and didn’t find it.  Mom and dad went back the next day after work and looked with no luck.  any hints for “More Competition” at 40 41.60 N and 112 01.690 W would be apprecitated!

Today was Granpa’s birthday.  Even though he passed 14 years ago we still remember him.  As he loved treasure hunting and prospecting, what better way to honor him than to find some geocaches!  Never mind the rain.

We searched for 9 caches today before it got dark, and we found 8 of them!

#1: Cornered.  40 38.322 N 112 00.105 W.  This one was no trouble to find.  We left one of our cards as we are going to do in every cache that is big enough to hold it!

On March 2nd, we went out and looked for 4 more caches!

The first two we found while killing time for the older kids to get out of school.

#1 was the “Kuna Cache” at 40.70955 N and 112.04237 W.  Amelia found this one fairly easily and she traded a kalidescope for a gold whistle!  We also found out first Toy Voyager.  That is a small stuffed toy that has an adventure at www.toyvoyagers.com.  You can read about his adventures at that site with ID number 211786.  We took the guy to help him on his way East, we haven’t found another cache big enough to leave him in yet.

#2 was “Half A Z” at 40.71105 W 112.03202 W.  Mom spotted this cache from the car as Amelia and I were looking for it!  Signed the log and left.

#3 we hit after an orthodontist appointment and it was near the mall.  Called “Lunch Break #9” at 40 38.208 W 111 53.010 N.  We didn’t find this cache at first.  We looked and looked but no dice.  Later we read the comments on Geocaching.com and got another clue so we went back the next day and found it right off!  Sneaky hiders…

#4 was close to number 3 and called “Satisfaction Guaranteed?” at 40.63442 N 111.88352 W. ( I am going to switch gps coordinates after this).  We didn’t find this cache either, we looked quite a bit.  Eventually we got some more hints and went back the next day to find it.

Hello everyone.  We have discovered a new hobby that, well, if you are reading this, you already know about.  We have discovered Geocaching and we are incredible excited about it.  This site is going to host a chronicle of all of our geocaching adventures.  Please see our “About” page for more information on the 6matthews.  Later, I am going to have a selection of hand carved wooden styluses (styli??) for sale.  There may even be a few in caches that we visit!

Following is a recap of our first few days of geocaching.
